:: Trap Areas ::

The Neopets Team is tricky. If you play the site, you already know that. So here are the areas they stuck into the game for no reason at all except to take your time, trap you so you have to finish the whole freakin' thing, and make you lose track of where you were going. None of these have any reason at all, all they do is run you around. They in no way contribute or work for side quests, main quests or the like. ALL they are is places to get some more money and a few items.

Trap Areas

Dungeon Ruins – Just outside of Brightvale, a left off the Coast Road. You are supposed to think this is the Gelert Cripts that Prince Tourin sends you to, but it’s just a big map. You will NEVER be sent here for ANYTHING. It’s a switch/button puzzle, and it leads basically nowhere. There are a few treasures, but unless you’re low on np it’s not really worth it. See treasures for more info.

Demons:

All types of Skeletons
Restless Spirits
Treasures - 6

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Mountain Passage – On the coast road to your right, you’re supposed to think this is where the ore is or that it’s a side quest you don’t have. It traps you. Once you’re in, you can’t turn around and go out, and instead have to go the whole length. It drops you in Bogshot Swamp. Nothing will EVER send you into that passage. It’s mostly a source of mostly lame treasures (see treasures for more info) and one supernova mote which you can’t get back from without dying and which can easily be bought before the one fight you NEED them for in act four. It’s basically a big misdirection trap. Unless you’re the adventurous type or trying to play a complete game, there’s no point, and it’s a dangerous place where you WILL die a lot at a certain rip-cord switchover. You just will. There’s no way around it, it’s trial and error. So if you choose to do this, save at EVERY save point along the way.
Demons:
Spyders, all types.
Treasures – 7
 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Crypt of the Sentries and Exiled – There are three crypts, and the Fang Necklace you need is only in one of ‘em. The other two are just traps, but you don’t get locked in and there are some ok treasures in them. Some better than ok ones in some cases. They’re both fairly simple puzzles. The Crypt of the Sentries is definitly worth it, as there are a LOT of cool treasures in there. See Treasures.

Demons:

Skeletons, all types
Spirit Swords
Restless Spirits
Skull Spirits
Treasures – 9 each

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Black Keep Dungeon – It seems like a something. It’s the doors you wind up in front of when released from the Black Knight’s fight. You think it’s a shortcut back to Market Town or a side quest, when in fact it’s a LONG cut to NOWHERE. However, there’s some neat stuff in there.
 It’s a color switch puzzle. Have fun. It’s just simply too complex to explain for a useless, trap area. Besides, don’t you want there to be SOME challenge to this game? *chuckles*
Demons:
Restless Spirits
Little Slorgs
Giant Slorgs
Skeletons, all types
Treasures: 11
 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Ruined Caves – The back end of the Ruined Caves, past that jog up off the map is a big trap. There are 19 treasures in it, and none of them are worth it. This area traps you with lava, and is also the only section of the game other than the Hall of Heroes save point glitch that can game over glitch. You fall into lava, and instead of dying, fall out of the map. You’re now screwed. You cannot get back in. If you are the adventurous type, check the Treasures section for more info on our situation with this section. We did not go through it for the Guide.

Demons:

Spyders. And more Spyders
Treasures: 19 (not a one has np in it, but a portion of that number are actually in the Oubliette)

 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Colliseum – There’s one single treasure in here. There’s nothing else. It’s just a big maze to get you lost. Not worth it.
