they didn't kill us in our homes
no beds upset, no sacred tombs
no silent fire in the night
no smashed in windows or broken lights

no locks were picked
no guns were used
no doormen tricked
no midnight ruse

they did not play to nightmares known
they had the plan ahead well sown
they came from hell and flew in straight
and smashed our nation at the gate

they got no farther, but still and all
we heard heard the blast, we felt the fall
we saw the lives forever lost
we could smell the blood in settling dust

those who planned this did it so
we would see and we would know
that they are there and they are strong
and they will always carry on

but those who did are dead as dust
they sent themselves to die with us
so now they have not those who can
but only those who sit and plan

and though another can and will
we are still the same they kill
we do not change, we are strong
we can also carry on

to stop our nation will take much more
than cowards crashing into our shore
we are united, we are as one
and you cannot make us undone

we will keep on, we will survive
for those who live are those who died
the same can not be said for you
for those who died will soon be you
