Second Chances Series - Introduction and explanation.
(Not required for the story, but it’ll make more sense if you read it.)
So, this is a fic based on a plot I’ve had running through my head pretty much ever since the middle of the fourth season. The basic idea is: What if the characters, in their current form, were sent to redo time, from the first time The Master attempted to leave the Hellmouth? (The Harvest) What if, and bear with me now, what if THAT EVENT and how they handled it, changed everything else? What if they were sent by the Oracles to redo time from that point on? How would things be different, given what they know, and the people they’ve become? How would they be the same?
As the show progressed, I started to think about this more and more, and the story started to work it’s way into my head on a daily basis, especially as I started watching the re-runs. I started seeing how they’d react, how they’d interact, what they’d do different.
Finally, after this last year (year six, for those reading this in a few years, which I hope you will) I couldn’t take it anymore. I had to start writing it. After Buffy’s epiphany, and Giles returning, Xander’s strength, Willow’s magic and power, Spikes SOUL, for god’s sake!!!... I had to, don’t you see? So, I’ve decided to write it.
I will start with Summer just after Season Six. I will fix all the little details I don’t like (we all have them, don’t we? Like: Angel in LA, with CORDELIA?? AKK! And Willow’s magic situation... and, is Giles going back to England?)
It will go from the end of the last episode onwards. From the last line of the show, it’s my own little world...whatever is "supposed" to happen next season, not here. Whatever DOES happen next season, as I’m sure it will before I get to the end of this since I plan on doing AT LEAST the first season over, it won’t. My world, my rules. This is going to combine all the folks back into the Scoobies.
Now...I haven’t really watched a whole lot of the end of Angel...the baby gone thing was just too upsetting for me. So...we stop with ATS right at the point that Angel sends Cordy off with Gru on her Vacation. AND, since I don’t really remember, no prophecy about "The Father Will Kill the Son". Screw that. No go. Gone. Adios. ‘Cause I’ve decided to, ok? It’s my damn plot! We cool? Good. Nice to know we’re all on the same page. Just pretend that happend the same night that Willow tried to end the world.
So...suspend your minds towards the end of "Grave" (changing those last few scenes a little...) and follow me as we fix Joss’ mistakes (sorry guy, but WOW) and move forward to a bright and promising....past.
