Note: Ask and you shall receive...This story is in response to a challenge where Buffy must move in with Giles without Joyce's knowledge. I can tell this may be a bit longer than I anticipated but the premise is just so tastey!
Should include:
- Giles feeling relaxed for the first time since he moved to Sunnydale, because Buffy is sleeping under his roof.
- Buffy having nightmares, but them stopping when she moves in with Giles.
- Buffy having an erotic dream about Giles, and him overhearing it.
- Somehow, and NC-17 rating, but not for the dream. Must happen in life. It's a shipper story, remember?
- Buffy and Giles together at the end.
Include at least four:
- Giles hitting Snyder for the way he treats Buffy, and getting away with it.
- Willow and Xander ignoring Joyce while she's in the room and talking to them.
- Buffy saying, before the idea for her to move comes in, that the Library feels like home.
- Buffy sleeping in Giles office better than at home.
- Giles brushing a piece of lint off Willow and Buffy getting jealous
- Buffy commenting that they'll have to share a bathroom, and Giles absentmindedly saying "Yes. It'll be quite nice" without realizing he's saying it.
- Willow helping Buffy sneak out, getting caught by Joyce and saying "Well, if you weren't such a bitch, she wouldn't have to sneak!"

Thoughts are in single quotes.
Feedback: Please give it to me regardless of good or bad!

"This simply won't due," Giles removed his glasses and began to clean them.

"Hey...I'm in the know here too, Giles. This isn't working out but what can I do. I'm under parental government here, I'm grounded"
Buffy shrugged her shoulders and sat down at the library table.

"Buffy, I understand it must be a chore to balance slaying with you're responsibility to your mother, but I must insist on your patrolling tonight" He returned his glasses and leaned on the table. "Vampiric activity has almost doubled in the east end since you've been under house arrest"

"I had a feelin'. I'm having some major Technicolor nightmares lately"

Giles eyebrows perked up, "R-really? What kind? Prophetic?"

"Not sure. Major wiggins though" Buffy stood up and swung her bag over her shoulder, "I've gotta go; have a date with some hell spawn of evil"

"Algebra or chemistry?" Giles grinned.

"Chemistry" Buffy pouted. "I'll try to slip in here after sixth period, before mom picks me up" She headed for the library doors.

"Buffy, I'm sorry this has become such a burden on you and your mothers relationship," Giles said with his gaze following her exit, "But do try to patrol tonight. My attempts to fill your shoes are shoddy at best. Sunnydale needs its Slayer"

"I know, Giles. I'll try my best, " she sighed and tried to leave.

"Oh...and one more thing" Giles stood up. Buffy turned back around with a glare, obviously loosing her temper. "I'll be leaving next weekend for a overnight stay in England. Please check in with me Saturday morning before I depart"

"Your order is my command.." she mumbled, kicked open the library doors and stormed off.

Giles shook his head in concern. Buffy wasn't properly managing her life as a Slayer. He'd tried to give her some leeway with having a social life but her mother's interference was the true hazard. Joyce's insistence that Buffy join extracurricular activities at the school made Buffy short for time. She was cutting into her sleep in order to keep up with demand. It was affecting Buffy's physical performance, her speed was lacking, her endurance was nonexistent, and her moods were unstable. He concluded that it was time to discuss a change of pace.

A week later

"Rupert, I must admit I am a bit shocked at your request," Travers allowed a slight grin to show through his stiff resolve. "You're not one who adheres to traditions easily. May I ask why the sudden insistence of repositioning the Slayer?"

"W-well, I'm afraid c-circumstances require.." Giles stuttered nervously.

"A simple `you were right' would suffice Mr. Giles" Travers smiled and nodded. "Permission granted. The council shall make the arrangements and we will report back to you when suitable lodging has been acquired"

Giles gritted his teeth and tried to hide his contempt for the man. "Thank you" He walked toward the exit.

"Oh, Mr. Giles. One more thing.."

Giles turned around with a counterfeit smile, "Yes?"

"You must commit the Slayer to her new circumstance. The council would never have dealt with Miss Summers in such an unruly fashion. It is your responsibility to deal with the repercussions of your insubordinate behavior"

`That's right...press your luck you little twit!' Giles thought and smiled brighter, "Yes, of course" As he left the building he loosened his collar and tie to relieve the tense muscles in his neck, infuriated by Travers condescending tone.

Back in Sunnydale

Buffy dragged herself through the library doors with Willow and Xander in tow.

"What's the hub-bub G-man? The Buffster said you had some news?" Xander claimed his chair in the usual fashion, spinning it around and straddling his legs around the back support.

"Do we have a new ghoulie in our quiet little town?" Willow asked.

Giles smiled at how Willow lit up the library with her perkiness, then his glance fell on Buffy. She could barely keep her eyes open and her shoulders drooped in the chair.

"Get on with it" Buffy mumbled.

"Uh, yes. Quite" He started. "Well, I want you two to know how much I appreciate your help in these...um, matters"

"Oh no! You're kicking us out of the gang" Willow shot Giles a wounded look. "Xander, he's kicking us out of the gang"

"W-Willow, wait.." Giles stammered.

"It's not his gang to lead, Wil. He's not the boss of us!" Xander interrupted.

"Yeah, well, Giles! I usually respect my elders but I gotta throw a big veto in on this smear campaign" Willow continued, "We invented the Scoobie gang and...and I think it's up to Buffy to decide who gets kicked to the curb"

"Kicked to the curb?" Xander cocked his head to the side and smiled at Willow.

"Just tryin to use the hip terminology. Being in the now!" she explained.

"Not working for ya, Wil!" Xander concluded.

Giles watched the two friends continue to ramble for a moment and caught a glance of Buffy sleeping with her head supported by her textbooks on the table.

"That's enough!" he ordered, a bit louder than he'd wished. He looked back at Buffy who was still sound asleep. His attention turned back to Xander and Willow. He motioned for them to follow him to his office. They looked at Buffy and nodded in agreement. They followed him to his sanctuary and once the door closed, Willow opened her mouth to continue the argument.

"Wait, please, the both of you" Giles pleaded. "You don't understand. I am not kicking you out of anything. I need to discuss something with Buffy" He took a seat at his desk. "As of late, Buffy has been suffering from extreme fatigue and sleep deprivation brought on by her mothers interference with her schedule"

"Oh, is that why we have the rip van winkle routine going on out there?" Xander interrupted.

Giles sighed, "Yes. Buffy is in dire need of a change and I will need your help, the both of you.." he smiled at Willow, "...to get Buffy through this difficult time"

"Whatever you need G-man. The Scoobies are at your service" Xander agreed.

"Don't call me that" Giles growled.

Xander smiled, "You're the pimp G!"

Willow punched him in the shoulder, "Now you're just being mean!" She pushed him toward the library exit, "I was just trying something new.." she continued to bicker.

"What is a Scoobie gang?" Giles asked.

Xander rolled his eyes and left the library with Willow trailing after him.

Giles quietly returned to the library table where his sleeping Slayer laid still. She looked so peaceful, so vulnerable...so precious. He gently combed some hair back from her delicate features with a couple rough fingers. She smiled and nuzzled up to them. His heart skipped a beat at her charming reaction to his touch. If only he could have such moments with her when she was awake.

He knelt down beside her and carefully placed a hand on her shoulder, "Buffy.." he shook her very lightly, "Buffy, wake up, please"

Her eyes opened slightly and she smiled when she saw him before her. "I'm sorry. Did I miss anything important?" She lifted her head and tried to rub the sleep from her eyes.

"Buffy, you need sleep. You can't keep up this schedule" He realized he still had his hand on her shoulder. He jerked it away and stood up, embarrassed by his absentmindedness.

"I know. But what's a Slayer to do?" She shrugged and her head fell back onto her textbooks, she was out.

"Dear girl," he returned to one knee and tried to stir Buffy awake again.

"Buffy, please...you can't sleep here. Um, well...perhaps if I moved you to my office" He looked around the empty library, as if waiting for someone to disapprove. No disapproval was sounded.

He tried again to awaken her. She slept soundly; he couldn't revive her. "Damn," he whispered. What could he do?

"I'll write you an excusing note if you will just wake up and move Buffy," he pleaded with her. No answer. `Bloody hell,' he thought and finally took her into his arms. She immediately wrapped her arms around him and snuggled into the crook of his neck. Giles froze as a jolt of arousal came over him. "God...not now!" he muttered under his breath and tried to continue into his office. Her warm breath tickled his neck, sending blood rushing to his lower extremities. His composure was quickly unraveling as he reached the destination and tried to laid her on the ground by his calisthenics gear. She wasn't releasing her hold on his neck. He tried to unclench her fingers and get himself free from her distracting conduct. Inappropriate thoughts began to creep into his head as he struggled with the insistent Slayer to release him, "Buffy.." he whispered not wanting to wake her but desperate to get away, "Please!" Her grip lessened and she began to roll over. "Thank god," Giles said but didn't notice she'd caught hold of his vest. As she continued to roll, Buffy's Slayer grip pulled Giles over with her and he found himself worse off then he had been before, pinned under her bare leg with her arm stretched over him and her hand cupping his responding groin. `You've got to be joking...' Giles thought, `There is no bloody way she could sleep through all that.' When he looked down at her, he saw her sleeping soundly, a grin playing on her lips, not a care in the world. It broke his heart to move but he knew he was in a dangerous dilemma that was growing with every moment...pun intended.

With a deep sigh, he slipped out from under her. He straightened his attire and closed the door to the office. He looked at Buffy as he took a seat at his desk.

"I hope you'll understand that I must do this for your own good, my love," he whispered to the sleeping Slayer, "Your mother will not know where we've moved to. She'll believe that you ran away" He frowned with self-loathing, "Please forgive me"
