Anyone else...Oh just take it! Just let me know where it's going and make sure my name is on it

Author's Note: The song and all its rights and stuff belong to 3LW and co. I also own nothing pretaining to them. Oh and I know that the hip-hop/R&B sound doesn't quite fit with BtVS type music but the words were exactly what I was looking for. Wixx is a store about a block from my house in NY. Not Beta read! Oh I tried to stay to the sweet Willow character but for the purpose of this story it might have gotten lost along the way...sorry :-/

Author's Note2: Text Messages are in Italics, //Songs//, **Flashback**

*-----*

Buffy walked into the Bronze, moving gracefully through the crowded club. She was dressed all in black, low riding jeans and simple peasant top adorned her body. There was a new band tonight, the type of music they played wasn't what you'd normally hear at the Bronze but she figured 'what the hell'.

"Can you believe they're actually here" a young girl said to one of her few companions. Her table of friends all turned toward the stage awaiting what they believed to be a promising show.

"I can't even belive they actually agreed to play a town like Sunnydale" another said as he passed by the Slayer's table. The discussion was centered around the three girls on stage all dressed in various forms of the same outfit, all dressed in a deep rich forest green. All having their dark almost black hair falling around their shoulders like spun silk.

Moving towards the back of the club and closer to the bar, Buffy managed to snag a seat unknowningly next to Daniel Osbourne; now ex-boyfriend of best friend Willow Rosenberg.

"What's up Sunnydale!" one of the girls said to the applause and hollering that filled the room. "We want to thank y'all for comin' out tonight. The song we're about to perform for you is one of our personal favorites and we hope you like it..."

//That's Right...........

That's Right.......

Sometimes I wish we were more than just friends

I know that I'm dreaming cause you're crazy about her

Sometimes I wish all the time that

you spend with her was with me instead

I wish we could be more than friends

It's time to let you know just how do i feel

about that day (that's right) you drive me crazy (that's right)

If she ever let you go then you know the deal

Boy you will be mine

Til the end of time//

Buffy instantly like the song, though it wasn't what she normally listened to, it had a beat and you could dance to it if one wished. Throughout the first few lines she turned to her right and was pleasantly surprised to find Oz smiling back at her. She found herself returning the smile. When she turned her attention back to the stage she couldn't help but noticed that Oz had moved closer to her.

//It's the same dream

Over and over

(I can see us walking and holding hands)

You and me

Closer and closer

(If everything was different you'd my man)//

Buffy found herself thinking about the man next to her and how much alike they were. All the while knowning or at least she believed he was head over heals in love with her red-headed best friend. She turned toward him, Oz feeling her eyes on him turned to face her. Just before they both gave their attention back to the stage their hands laced together underneath the table.

//Sometimes I wish we were more than just friends

I know that I'm dreaming cause you're crazy about her

Sometimes I wish all the time that

you spend with her was with me instead

I wish that we could be more than friends//

Oz found himself thinking about this girl next to him. He knew that he cared deeply for Willow but he also knew that since day one he and Buffy had an unspoken connection. Now he was left to wonder if she felt it too.

Buffy listening more and more closely to the words found herself wishing for the first time since Angel that she was more than just friends with someone else. Then again just like the song, wasn't Oz just crazy about a girl that wasn't her.

//Waking up to the morning each day

I think of you and how I wish

I were the special girl in her place (that's right)

Every time you see me with the smile on my face

I just can't help but wish for the day//

Oz couldn't help but think about Willow for a moment but then just in that same moment he wished that Buffy was that girl in her place. He couldn't believe that he may be falling for Willow's best friend, Giles young charge but most importantly Angel's girl. He knew he shouldn't be thinking or even feeling this way but he couldn't help it.

Buffy knew that this was a bad thing. She knew that she shouldn't want to be the girl that Oz holds at night. To be the girl he makes love to. For christ sakes he's Willow's boyfriend, well ex now but still. It would go against all that is holy and sacred in the world that is Best Friendum. Knowing all the feelings she was feeling were wrong, Buffy just couldn't bring herself to feel right.

//It's the same dream

Over and Over

I can see use walking and holding hands

You and me

Closer and closer

If everything was different you'd be my man

Sometimes I wish we were more than just friends

I know that I'm dreaming cause you're crazy about her

Sometimes I wish all the time that

You spend with her was with me instead

I wish that we could be more than friends

More than friends (more than friends)......

More than friends (more.... than friends).......

More than friends......//

Buffy and Oz turn toward one another at the same time. Both somehow knowing what the other was feeling. Both knowing what they were feeling was wrong, yet neither could bring themselves to care. Buffy leaned in closer to Oz, he then pulled her up against him and touched his lips to hers for a sweet yet feather light kiss. All the while in the background Three Little Women finished their song...

//That's right....

That's right.......

Sometimes I wish we were more than just friends

I know that I'm dreaming cause you're crazy about her

Sometimes I wish all the time that

You spend with her was with me instead

I wish that we could be more than friends

Sometimes I wish we were more than just friends (I wish.. I wish)

I know that I'm dreaming cause you're crazy (crazy....) about her

Sometimes I (I...........)wish all the time that

You spend with her was with me instead

I wish that we could be more than friends (I wish we we could be more than friends)//

Buffy and Oz pulled apart and began to join in the applause as the song ended and 3LW began another. The Slayer and werewolf stared at the one another. After a few moments had passed they both got up and slipped out of the club and into the night. Never noticing the brunette walk away with a wide smile on her face.

They walked in silence, Oz dropping Buffy off at her door. After a another sweet kiss goodnight, Buffy slipped into the house and Oz turned and walked back out into the night.

*-----*

The next morning Buffy found herself out shopping with Willow walking through the store Wixx looking at the various candles and burning oils. Once again Buffy found herself listening to how guilty Willow felt for her kiss with Xander and how much she misses and loves Oz yet she doesn't understand how he can be so cold towards her.

"I mean I understand Oz has ever right to be upset with me but it has been almost two weeks. Do you know how many times and different ways I've tried to show how sorry I am to him."

Buffy finds herself lost in her thoughts doing her best to drown out the constant whine that was Willow. At first Buffy found herself torn between her two friends but of course had to side with Willow, her being the girl. Then she found herself feeling for Willow and wanting Oz and her to get back together as soon as possible. Now she could barely stand all the babbling that Willow was doing and just wanting to feel Oz's soft yet firm lips on hers once more. She's pulled form her thoughts by her best friends babble.

"Buff...Buffy! Are you even listening to me?" Willow fixes her with a cross from her resolve face to an annoying little pout.

All Willow talks about anymore is Oz and her break-up so she's pretty sure she can cover. "Of course I was listening. You were saying how sorry you were and how Oz was being completly unreasonable."

Willow gave her a bit of a look but seem to except her answer and turned back to the different scented burning oils before continuing on her rant. Buffy just rolled her eyes but let out a sigh of relief for not getting caught. She once again heard Willow complaing. 'It was going to be a long day...'

*-----*

Oz made an expression of sheer bordem, which was just never done. He was at rehersal for the Dingoes and Devon kept ranting about not liking the new song. Devon was unbeliveable sometimes in Oz's opinion. The guy was the lead singer of an extremly popular band and had girls throwing themselves at him, yet he was never satisfied.

Personally, Oz didn't see the joy in having a bunch of girls throwing themselves at him. Don't get him wrong the attention could be nice but most were complete idoits and nothing better to do with them except a quick romp in bed. That not quite being Oz's style steered clear of that type of attention. As he told Willow once he was living 'Groupie free'.

In his own head instead of it being occupied by the thoughts of many girls it was occupied by thought of just one. That being one Buffy Summers. He still couldn't belive that he had kissed her and that she had LET him. Not being able to keep the small secretive smile off his face at thought of kissing those soft, sweet lips again. God she tased like heaven, she tasted like honey and smelled like vanilla.

Not seeing her for the past two days and listening to Devon bitch was not improving his mood. He even was forced to make a few expressions to show he did not want to be bothered today. Feeling his cell in his pocket begin to vibrate he took it out looked at the text he recived. It saying...

I can see us walking and holding hands

Oz's eye brow cocked up in a thoughtful yet confused expression. He knew that he knew that line from somewhere, but he had no clue as to where. When he checked to see who the text was from a number appeared that he had never seen before. At first he thought it might have been Willow but she didn't have a cell nor would her parents get her one.

Shrugging it off he hoped he'd eventually find out who this mystery person was...

*-----*

"Please, Buffy please...I'm begging you!" Willow begged but Buffy shook her head.

"I'm not gonna do it Will. I can't make Oz do anything."

Willow just stared at Buffy with pleading eyes and began to plead her case one more time. The slayer interrupted her with the wave of her hand.

"Look Wills I get that you feel bad, I do. You also have to understand something...what you did. It was wrong. I know you're sorry and so does Oz but you need to let him come to you."

Willow took in some of what Buffy said but she knew within her heart that she had to have Oz back and now. Especially since Cordelia cornered her and told her that she wasn't Oz's one and only anymore...

**

Willow was walking down the hall when she was pulled into an empty classroom and cornered by the Queen C herself. The red head just looked up at the brunette in obvious fear and a hint of defiance.

"Look little miss innocent, Xander and I may be over and though it may be your fault. What goes around, comes around and all I gotta say is since your little stunt it seems that Oz has found another to bestow his wolfy affections on."

The look of shock and then hurt that crossed Willow face were the exact and hoped for reactions the May Queen was looking for. With a smug look on her face, Cordelia looked down at Willow and said...

"Hey what do you care, you have Xander now" said in a semi sing-song voice. Now that having been said she sailed out of the room. Leaving behind a very distressed and slightly fuming newbie witch.

**

"Look Buffy I know I messed up but Cordelia said she saw Oz with another girl at the Bronze the other night...and...and they seemed friendly. If you know what I mean."

Buffy took in Willow's sad puppy dog look and couldn't help but feeling guilty knowing that she was said girl. Noticing her friend was about to cave Willow played what she beileved to be her golden ticket.

"Please Buff, I'd do the same for you if it was you and Angel."

With a long, heavy and auidable sigh Buffy replied. "Ok, I'll talk to Oz but I'm not promising anything."

Willow let out a squel of geeker joy and tackled her blonde friend and pulled her into a hug. Buffy's last thought's were 'What did I just get myself into'.

*-----*

Oz was just hangin' out in the park strummin' on his guitar. When again he felt his phone begin to vibrate in the confines of his jean pocket. He pulled it out and once again he recieved another mysterious text, this time it saying...

I just can't help but wish for the day

This was the third no-name text he had recieved. The first being, I can see us walking and holding hands. The second one, It's the same dream...You and me. and now this one being the third. Devon said that he's probably being stalked by a crazed fan but Oz knew the lines from somewhere, he just couldn't remeber where. It wasn't helping that he had been trying to repress that one perfect night with a certain blonde slayer.

He knew his feelings for her were wrong, so to say the least he was a little more than surprised and delighted to see that when his phone began to ring the number that showed up was of one Buffy Summers.

"Hey Buff, what's up"

"Oz, I was wondering if we could meet...you know to talk and stuff"

He couldn't belive what he was hearing the girl he hasn't bee able to get out of his head for the past 4 days is asking him out...sorta. Cool as always Oz responds.

"Sure, when and where"

"I was thinking Espresso Pump, tonight around say 7"

"Sure"

"Ok, bye"

"Bye"

With that Oz hung up and slipped the phone back into his pocket. He picked up his guitar and began to sing to himself writing a new song along the way.

*-----*

Buffy couldn't belive that tonight she was meeting Oz for coffee, the non-date drink. 'Dear god what am I thinking' she thought to herself as she got ready for her non-date.

Clothes were all over her room, she had tried on seven different outfits already. Checking the time and seeing she only had half an hour before she had to leave she decided to go with a creme colored skirt that came about mid-thigh, a black sleevles top and black boots that came up to about mid-calf. Double checking herself in the mirror she just applied some lip gloss trying for 'I look damn good but I did not try to hard'.

Satisfied with the result she headed down the stairs called out a goodbye to her mother and headed off into the late evening.

*-----*

Oz sat in the Espresso Pump, making the choice to get there early before he did something stupid like chicken out and not showing up at all. He didn't even really understand why he was so nervous. I mean this was just Buffy, his friend Buffy whom he liked...a lot!

Ok, so she was absoultly beautiful and she seemed interested in him. I can do this, this is just Buffy and she's my friend and Oh man her she is now. These were all the thoughts running through his head as the small blonde approached him.

"Hey" she said softly sliding into the seat across from him he replied in kind. There were a few moments of a tense silence before Oz spoke.

"So you wanted to talk...and stuff" he said hesitantly.

"Um yeah, look I came because...oh man I thought this would be easier." Buffy stumbled through her words desperatly wanting to tell him that she thought she was falling for him all the while trying to remeber that she was suppose to be here for Willow. Eventually coming to the decision to just tell him everything and just let Oz decide she took a breath and began.

"Alright I have a lot to say and I'd like you not to interrupt so I can just say what I gotta say and be out with" she looked at him waiting for him to see if this was acceptable. At his nod she went on to continue.

"Originally Willow asked me to talk to you. To see if there was any chance for you guys to get back together. So that's the first reason why I asked you out tonight. The second being about what happened between us. Now I know you have every right to just get up and walk away right now but I hoping you'll stay so we can talk about all of this." That being said Buffy fell silent waiting patiently for Oz's reaction

Oz just stared at Buffy silently though expressionless his thoughts and emotions were swirling around him. Eventually deciding on what just what HE wanted he spoke.

"Ok, what Willow did hurt me. I gave more of myself to her than I ever had to anyone. I know that she is beyond sorry and I also know that if I was to get back with her she would never make that same mistake again but Willow is the kind of girl that wants what she can't have. Right now that's me. There is no doubt in my mind that Willow cares about me, it's just not enough. Not anymore." He pauses to look at Buffy silently trying to see her reaction to his words.

Buffy looks at Oz quietly, knowing that he's right. Willow always wants what she can't have. Now not quite sure how to ask but still wanting to know where the two of them stood. Also thinking she has never heard Oz speak so much in one sitting.

"I respect your decision, like I told Willow I can't make you do anything. I was just asking and now that you've answered I'll leave it alone...I just have one more question..." she trailed off unsure as how to continue.

Oz looking at her in understanding continues. "Where does that leave us?"

She looked up at him. "Yeah, I mean you're my best friends ex but I can't stop thinking about the way you kissed me"

Oz smiled glad he wasn't the only one who couldn't get the kiss out of his mind. "I know what you mean, ever since all I've wanted was to..."

she cut him off. "...do it again"

They smiled at one another. Oz then leaned across and captured Buffy's lips in another kiss. Unlike their first kiss which was quick and sweet, this was longer and held a bit more of passion to it. When they finally broke away form one another both were slightly panting. Oz got up and dropped a couple bills on the table, he then pulled Buffy to her feet and out of the coffee shop.

Both not noticing the red head walking away with tears running unchecked down her cheeks.

*-----*

Willow couldn't believe that her own best friend had done this to her. Buffy was suppose to helping her and Oz get back together not going out for coffee and kissing him.

Suddenly the tears stopped and the firey green eyes that were filled with such sorrow before were now filled with red hot rage.

*-----*

Buffy and Oz walked around town for some a little while before coming to a stop at the playground. Taking a seat on the swings Oz came up behind her and began to push. It went on like that for some time before stopped Buffy and took a seat on the swing next to her.

Buffy taking notice of the slight mood change she turned to face Oz directly. He took a breath before he began.

"I'm just going to come out and say that I like you...a lot and I want to be with you. Not just as a friend or a research buddy but I want us to be an us." Buffy smiled at as he stumbled over his words a bit. This was a new side to Oz she had never seen before and decided that she like it.

"I like you too...a lot and I want to be with you also. My thing is what about Willow. I don't want hurt her but I can't turn away from what's happening between us either."

Oz looked at her for a moment before taking his hands in hers. "I don't want to hurt Willow either but just like you I can't and won't turn my back on what is happening here."

Buffy smiled and stood up reaching out a hand for him. After a seconds hesitation, Oz took it and stepped into her embrace. He barely noticed how the air around them seemed to charge when they touched.

Oz stared at Buffy's face and lifted his hand to cup to her cheek. Buffy covered it with her own.

"I can see us walking and holding hands" she whispered as the began to sway to the music that seemed to play in the distance. Oz's eyes lit up with laughter and finally understanding.

"It's the same dream...You and me" he replied back, pulling her into his arms.

The world seemed to fall away, Buffy now knew where she belonged and it was a good feeling.

Oz finally realizing why he was always so drawn to the tiny blonde in his arms and why until now he felt as if something was missing. Though he did care for Willow he knows that this is where he was suppose to be.

Oz leaned in and covered Buffy's lips with his own, hoping to pour all that he felt for in that one kiss. Buffy returned the kiss in kind.

After a few moment they pulled apart but still locked in eachothers embrace.

"I wish that we could be more than friends" Buffy said softly, Oz just smiled

"I think we're more than just friends" he mumured softly before his lips covered hers once more.

*-----*

In the darkness all that could be seen was the soft flicker of glowing candles. The only sound that penetrated the silence was the soft chanting in latin. Soon in a burst of light and energy filled the room and as soon as it appeared it was gone.

"Friends indeed" the voice whispered
